06/02/05 I live in Northern Illinois where we occasionally get up to 2-inch diameter hail. Will this not damage a glass or polycarbonate roof? Will this not, over time, "rub-off" the thin metal coating on the Low E/Pilkington Glass ? What winds speeds can these structures withstand?

06/02/05 We want to add a conservatory to an existing brownstone home. We want it to act as a dining area and playroom. Can it be both heated and air conditioned? Also how long do these conservatories last?

06/02/05 We would like to attach a sunroom to our home on top of our existing deck. I know that the supports need to be to building code. My question is for a spa enclosure, which of your models would suit that best and do you recommend heating to reduce condensation? Here in Central New Jersey the winters are long and the winds are fierce. Can the glass take severe wind? How many mph? Also, what would be the starting price for a room 19 x 13?

06/02/05 Is it true that installing air conditioning MAY be not worth the money? I am told that the air conditioning may have to be on almost all the time to fight the sun's warmth. I also want to know about heat. Would a gas fire place be enought to heat a conservatory that is about 250 square feet?

06/02/05 I'm an architecture student at the University of Kansas and I'm currently working on a special problem. My professor wants me to design a solarium or conservatory for a house in Fairbanks. I realize the heat loss would be a major factor in the winter especially and I was toying with several ideas. First I was dealing with direct gain and the use of a thermal mass. I also thought I might be able to incorporate the insulating properties of the snow that would undoubtedly pile in drifts around the room. I assume that your company has dealt with this sort of problem before and if you could give me any advice on these technical aspects as well as any design advice you might have I would be extremely greatful. Thank you for your time. A prompt response would be much appreciated.

06/02/05 I receive information on conservatories and prices. My question is how much more does installation cost (guesstamate is fine) and what is incluced: foundation, electrical work, heating for colder times? Will your in-home design consultants and on-site technical staff co-ordinate with contractor doing other work on-site (we will be having a porch/garage work done and may want to tie the conservatory in with that work. Thank you for any information you can provide.
