My wife and I are about to build a new home and want to have a sunroom on the back of it. The house will be situated lengthwise basically east to west, although there is some room for tilting it more toward the north or south. What is the best way to situate the house in order to maximize the benefits of the sunroom? Click to view answer » |

We are getting ready to put in an offer to buy a house that backed against a busy freeway. The house is a custom home with plenty to offer. The only drawback is the high level of noise when you step out to the backyard. It is almost unbearable. I was wondering if we could build a sunroom that can shield off the noise from speeding traffic on the freeway? Click to view answer » |

I would like to add a conservatory onto our kitchen. We have an "L" shaped house and the addition would have to be right in that inner 90 degree angle. Therefore, we have two roof pitches and low eaves to deal with. Is there any way we could successfully add a conservatory and NOT have disastrous leaks with all of the rain water coming from different directions and meeting in the same place? I hope I made myself clear in describing our dilemma. My husband seems to think that there is no way to work around it. I'm hoping the experts can tell me differently! Thanks so much! We would like to put a conservatory off of our family room-which has a cathedral ceiling. The height is 19' to the peak and 12' high walls. The addition would be perpendicular to the great room and along the side of our barn. The dimensions would be 16' deep by 34' long. We are planning to put an excercise pool(endless pools) in the far end of the new room. Do you have any suggestions for us? Click to view answer » |

I have a Victorian home that my wife and I would like to add a conservatory to. We want to add it between the house and garage. The garage is attached to the house via a breezeway. this creates a 'U' shape with a space of 16'wide and 16'deep. I can't figure out how the roof would be constructed to tie in to the house. We want a Victorian conservatory. The eave of the garage is 16'from the ground with the house being two stories(eave 25-30'). Also, have you designed any conservatories with kitchens in them? Thanks for your reply, Kenny

I WONDERED ABOUT A SMALL SUNROOM AND HOW U WOULD FIT FURNITURE IN IT TO SIT UPON SINCE THE WINOWS OPEN INWARD..NEXT I WANT TO KNOW IF THE MATERIALS USED ARE SO WELL INSULATED THAT NO DOOR WOULD BE NECESSARY TO BLOCK OFF THE ROOM FROM THE KITCHEN...WILL IT BE COOL IN THE SUMMER AND WARM IN THE WINTER? I WOULD OF COURSE WANT TO USE IT YEAR ROUND.. IS IT THAT WELL INSULATED FROM EXCESSIVE HEAT IN SUMMER AND EXCESSIVE COLD IN WINTER AS YOUR BROCHURE SEEMS TO INDICATE?

I am in the process of building my home. I want a sunroom off of the kitchen and to function as a place to relax and have coffee and read the paper, also as a buffer between the kitchen and the outside deck (used for informal entertaining). The archtectural plans are almost complete. The home is stucco and stone. How would I get a bid. Do you need to see architectural plans to see the dimentions in order to bid it out. I think I would like a victorian style, 5 bay with castment windows and the ability to shade the sun at all the windows. Are these structures 4 seasons. What are the hvac requirements? How are they heated. Are you in Maryland. kim Click to view answer » |

I have an deck (on 8 foot colums) with sunroom built on it, 10x10 ft(wood construction) attached to the back of my home. I am think of enclosing below it with an expanded glass room. Conceptualize, the end away from the house and one side wall would have glass panel walls with a glass roofing system attached above. Essenstially two, 5 foot by 15 foot enclosures joined at a 90 degree angle. Do you have any thought on simlest way to approach this? Do you make any prefab unit in the range of 10-15 by 4-5 feet that can be joined at a right angle. Click to view answer » |
